Largest ever tire inflation study reveals safety and environmental hazards
- Launch of the "Be Tire Smart- Play your PART" Campaign in Quebec

Montreal, QC (October 8, 2004) - An alarming 63% of cars in Quebec have at least one tire with an inflation problem, which is a safety risk and leads to increased fuel consumption, tire replacement costs and greenhouse gas emissions. This is one of many disturbing findings from the largest ever tire inflation study conducted in Canada, which will be announced on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, in Montreal.

The study clearly illustrates the need for consumer education on the benefits of proper tire inflation and maintenance practices. The Rubber Association of Canada and The Government of Canada formed a partnership to fund this study and to increase understanding among Quebecers about the safety and environmental benefits of proper tire inflation and maintenance. In addition, CAA-Quebec has recently joined the campaign as a partner.
